Democracy Collection Student Art Competition: Call for Artwork

The National Art Education Association, alongside the Art is Embassies office at the US Department of State, is pleased to announce the call for artwork for the Democracy Collection Student Art Competition. Showcasing the artwork of talented middle school and high school student artists ages 13-18, this competition provides an opportunity for students to explore democracy through the creation of art.

The Democracy Collection Student Art Competition submission and jurying process will be completely virtualUp to 30 works of art will be jury selected for inclusion in the virtual exhibition featured on the NAEA website. 


Submissions Deadline: Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11:59pm ET


HOW TO SUBMIT:

  • Art Teachers, you must have an Art Call profile to make submissions. If you have submitted to an NAEA exhibit through ArtCall in the past, login with your existing ArtCall login credentials. If you do not yet have an ArtCall login, click the REGISTER button in the top right corner of this page to create your profile.
     
  • Upload as many student member submissions as you’d like. Limit ONE submission per student. Multiple submissions for the same student will be disqualified from jurying.
     
  • For each entry, you will be required to enter the student's name, grade level, and artist statement.
     
  • You’ll receive a separate e-mail confirmation for each submission.
